Team Cycle U is focused on developing young riders ages 7-18 and coaching for all around success, not just race wins. Our team has a strong presence at NorthWest Cyclocross races both the MFG and Seattle series, we do a full Road Racing program beginning January 1st, as well as Track and a little bit of mountain biking. Here is a short youtube video of our team set-up after a cylcocross race at Woodland park Youtube LINK
The team involves yearly dues with possible monthly dues based on coaching for the team. All juniors receive a basic yearly plan with special rates to upgrade to more personalized monthly coaching. The general plan has riders peaking at Nationals with local races integrated into the schedule. I encourage participation in other sports and activities besides cycling, because I know it’s important that Juniors develop as well-rounded athletes. All members have access to monthly group skills sessions (cornering, climbing, pack riding, etc). As the coach I attend major races (LAJORS, States, etc.) and do pre- and post-race meetings. See the list below for some of the many benefits offered by the Cycle University Juniors team.
We have lots of great offerings for any level triathlete. Beginner to advanced, our team, training plans and clinics will help you have your best season yet and avoid many costly and time consuming mistakes.
Our Team Purpose:
- Encourage and support the development of beginning, intermediate and elite multisport athletes.
- Be ambassadors of Cycle U and our sport through involvement within the community.
- Showcase the effectiveness of Cycle University coaching and training programs.
- Build a fun and active team environment through mentorship, group training, team activities and race support.
Team HPC = High Performance Cycling
managed by Tom Meloy and David Longdon
Hard to believe, but the Cascade Bicycle Club‘s High Performance Cycling Team (aka “HPC”) is entering its 7th year; you may have noticed us in our trademark white and black team kits. HPC was developed to match the interests and needs of cyclists who like to ride fast, hard, far, and climb hills, but without a racing focus. The HPC program is committed to helping strong cyclists challenge themselves to improve their skills and fitness. The team has a wide range of abilities, though for an optimal experience team members should be able to pedal at least 18 mph on flat terrain.
